1. To protect people from danger and to live in
2. Wherever he wanted his men to build the castle
3. Because we don't need as much protection like they did in the medieval times
4. The gatehouse was used as the castles entrance. The castles constable used this part of the castle to lower the big gate and let people in. Sometimes prisoners were kept here
5. Castles changed to improve their defense against their enemies. Some castles changed their windows to glass and moats were put around castles as an extra defense
6. The keep is my favourite because it is a defensive wall around the castle

"Ahem, I want you to tell the cooks to prepare all manner of food and drink. Organize a hunting party for the 15th.I would like you to deliver these invitations. As for entertainment, hire magicians, jugglers, dancers, tumblers, and musicians. Also for gifts for the children, go with 5 other men to the fair and buy as many dolls, hobbyhorses, hoops, and tops as you can buy with these 30 gold pieces. For our other guests buy robes, jewellery and spices. See if the tailor has finished with my dress-the white and seafoam green one- and I prepare the Yule Log. I shall see to the decorating of the castle personally. This is to be a Christmas Party no one will forget. Now, Ride Aloysius, Steward, RIDE!!! (August 2005)
As Sam sat eating his burger he heard a loud noise. He turned and saw Chain Mail Chris was charging down the mall follow by Bubble Gum Guy. Sam couldn’t believe his eyes he had only ever seen these guys on television. They run into the lolly shop and started to gather all the bubble gum off the shelves. A crowd had started to gather outside the shop, people were pointing and whispering. Then Chain Mail Chris said hurry up to Bubble Gum Guy we need to get out of here before they call the cops. With their pockets filled with bubble gum they ran back the way they had come. Sam’s Mum came out of the clothes shop with bags in each hand and said what is all the noise. Sam could hardly get the words out he was so shocked at what he had seen.

1/ Castles were built for protection and shelter..
2/ At first they were built on hilltops or they built their own earth mound to put them on. The castles were easy and quick to build as they were made out of wood. They had a big tower for defense on top of the motte. After the year 1100 another change in the way castles were designed took place. The old square keeps were not so good because it was easy to dig underneath the corners of the keep and make it fall down. Instead they started building castles with one set of round walls. these were good because soldiers could see all around and also the castles were harder to knock down. The one weak spot was the gateway so gate houses were made very very strong with towers on each side and a drawbridge.
3/ Because they would have been VERY cold in the winter!!, and we are not at war any more (well, I guess some parts of the world are, which is sad!)
4/ The Dungeon....because I like ghosts and there would be lots in the dungeon.
5/ Castles changed a lot over the time, to make them stronger and less likely to be broken, they were originally made out of wood, but as time went by more stronger materials sourced, weapons were more advanced and sharp so they had no choice!!.
6/ in the 1200's they had a concentric castle which had two sets of walls, one inside the other. If the attackers broke in through the outer walls, they would be trapped in between the two walls and killed. I thought this was a good idea

5 How did castles changed over time? Why were the changes made?
Castles started out as earth and wood then changed to stone.
Wood was easier to set on fire and it rotted. The style of war had changed and the siege cost too much. The feudal system had changed.
6 Which part of the castle do you think offered the most protection against enemies? The moat. Why? Because it was filled with water and waste. Also cause it was too deep, you could also drowned.

2. The first proper castels were built in england in the roman conquest in 1066
3. The castels were to big and we dont have invades attacking us
4.The drawbridge is a moveable wooden bridge that keeps attackers away. It covers the moat
5.Castles were no longer needed as there was no threat from attackers .They became homes for the wealthy.
6.The drawbridge because it blocks the entry of the castle.

questions 4
question 4
my pick is the gatehouse
The castle's entrance was its weakest point, so priority was given to building a strong gatehouse. Often this part of the castle was the first to be rebuilt in stone. The conversion of the gatehouse into stone protected it from attack by fire, but also from other kinds of assault.
Placing the gatehouse near a moat, keep, or other tower gave it added protection. Frequently, the protecting tower was built into the gatehouse, as at Pembroke, which is defended by adjoining towers.
Gate-towers appeared in the late 12th century. The first gatehouses were small square towers, with doorways at the middle of the bottom storey. They usually housed the castle constable. In the 13th century, architects added a pair of wall towers to flank and protect the gate. Eventually, the two towers merged into one large tower, which housed the guards or members of the lord's household. It also provided space for a prison, guardrooms, or larger living areas. Sometimes the gatehouse even served as a keep.

Research - Castles
Why did people build castles? - For safety and protection from attacks and to show the owner’s rank and wealth.
Where were they built? - They were often built on hill tops because it had a good view of the surrounding area any approaching attackers. Some were built on low ground for water and food supply.
Why don’t we live in castles today? – Because they were damp, cold and had no electricity. They were expensive to keep running.
Choose one part of the castle that interests you – I thought the Blacksmiths shop was interesting because it would have been fun to work in there. It had lots of tools to use and always had a fire going so you would be really snug in winter.
How did castles change over time – They changed from wood to brick because the wood would rot and need replacing and bricks were much stronger and gave better protection from fire.
Which part of the castle offers the most protection – I think the Battlements offered the most protection because the guards who walked around the top could see the enemies approaching and kill them before they reached they castle.
By Lukie
Recipe from the castle kitchen
Banana smoothy
1 and a half bananasa tablespoon and a half of golden syrup2-3 cups of milk a half a cup of ice2 tablespoons of sugarPeel the bananas and chop them up, put them in a bowl, add other ingredients, blend together, and enjoy.
I enjoyed making this smoothie but it was a bit too sweet. I don’t think you need the 2 tablespoons of sugar as the golden syrup makes it sweet enough.

1 Why did people build castles? So they can protect the king and queen.
Also to protect the people that live in the castle as well.
It makes it harder to attack the king and queen.
2 Where were they built? They built them on a rocky outcrop.
They also built them on gaps on hills, also were built on borders of land.
Lastly they were built near rivers and seas.
3 Why don`t we live in castles today? Because the times have changed and theres no one to
acttack us. Also there are not many kings and queens around.

Choose 1 part of the castle that interests you
the gatehouse was the main entrance
to the castle so it needed to be heavily guarded.
it was defended by at least 1 portcullis which was a heavy
grilled door that dropped vertically down to protect the main
entrance. The castle might also contain murder holes and arrowloops
in the side walls The gatehouse would be heavily barred.

King Arthur's Pancakes
The pancakes were ok but we put the wrong amount of milk in so they were too thick
would be better if we put in the right amount in i still ate it
BYAZA

1 egg
1 pint of milk
a pinch of salt
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of oil
MethodMix ingredients in a large bowl until all lumps removed. Beat until smooth.Heat up a lightly greased frying pan. I have completed the end of the knight game. It took five tries. I am now completing the end of the storie regarding the boy who went shopping with his mother.
Bank robbing
While he was sitting there, he thought, why can't I go on an adventure? Besides it's a free world. Sam's idea was being interrupted, because he saw two crooks robbing a bank. They both had gun's. Then Sam knew just what he had to do. He called the police, the police came and took the gun's away from them. Sam got an award. The crooks are in jail, still trying to escape.
